A stairway with a nested video inside so that in order to be entertained by the media, one must bend over and put their butts on display to everyone in the room.

The ass has fought an on and off stage battle for centuries, from its exploitation of Saartjie Baartman to contemporary hip hop video vixens, the power of the ass is a complicated dance, literally, culturally and racially. The nested video inside this strucutre explores this piece of the body puzzle, its misuse, abuse, oppression alongside its ironic celebration and alluring appropriation. I seek to create a paratext around the exploitation of female anatomy as it specifically relates to the agency of the butt. Audience is made to grapple with the personal experience of being put on a pedestal whilst being objectified.
